The Arab Deans participated in the International Conference to achieving sustainable development in Iraq
Under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Ali Mohammed Hussein Aladeeb and under the slogan (The Sustainable Development is a Fundamental Pillar for the Progress of Iraqi) The Research and Development Directorate in the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research hold through activities of the National Educational Program for Sustainable Engineering NEPSE The International Conference to Achieve Sustainable Development in Iraq for the period between 8-9 May 2013.
The Arab Deans participated in the Conference activities where in the first day they met the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research. His Excellency while attending the opening of the conference he welcomed in a speech by the Arab Deans in their second home Iraq and pointed to the ministry’s keenness to develop cultural relations with Arab and international universities, especially after regaining the University of Baghdad its place and prestigious among the international Universities.
The University of Baghdad achieved a historic victory by obtaining the rankings of universities sequence 601 of the total 700 international universities from the highest point of the QS of America rating. And then won the League rated new world overtook on the 18 thousand University filed under “Webometrics Ranking” and sequence 3160 of the sequence 22000, and then be in the foreground, after it was out of Category globally for many years, and occupied the university in this category sequence (43 ) continental among Arab universities and Asia to gain university academic maturity with, and confirm to the world that it is the university sober in spite of all the risks to promote the university again with its Scientist and thinkers within footsteps of deliberate and prudent measures drawn up by the university to restore the true glory and prestige. The Arab Deans participated with an active role in the seminar, which was held on the second day to get out the recommendations of the conference. The Arab Deans agreed to work on the introduction of the concept of sustainability in the curricula of undergraduate and graduate studies in their colleges and work seriously to make students aware of the importance of sustainability and sustainable development of the evolution of the Arab nation.
